Approximately 15km to the west of Knysna, Brenton on Sea nestles atop a hill overlooking the ocean. Few people know that a section of Brenton on Sea has been proclaimed as a special nature reserve. The Brenton Blue Butterfly Reserve is home to a host of small wildlife, birds and, most importantly, the Brenton Blue Butterfly, an endangered indigenous species only found in Brenton.
Almost midway between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, Brenton on Sea (and by extension Knysna) makes for a comfortable break during a journey between the two cities. The airport at George is a scenic drive less than an hour away, making Brenton on Sea an ideal destination for holiday makers and honeymooners.
